Baishi, commonly known as the "Little Tibet" of Zhangjiajie, is located in the northeast of Sangzhi County, in the Wuling Mountains, with a terrain high in the north and low in the south. The highest peak Dou Li Jian in the territory is 1483 meters above sea level, 121 kilometers away from the county seat.
